Raw or DNG?

I am shooting RAW most of the time and import/stor handle my pics via LR4. In ever thought of it, but all the RAW versions of my different cameras are different, at some point in the (distant) future, my software will stop supporting them, I guess (the only reason I have LR4 is that LR3 did not read my G5 RAWs), so would I not be better off transferring them into DNG? Best during import, I guess.

What other considerations are there, will all my presets change? is DNG really no better in terms of future proof than my camera RAW?

Cheers
