finished calibration with good results on most lenses

I setup the A700 on a tripod and did a short focus test with a ruler at 45 deg. at f1.4. After some careful adjustments back and forth, I got it as close as I could.

The results made a noticeable difference in most with a few exceptions:

  • Min 50mm 1.4 (good)
  • Min 80-200mm HS G (80mm - ok, 200mm - terrible)
  • Tamron 90mm Macro DI SP (bad)
  • Min 35-105mm (both ends - excellent)
  • Min 100-200mm (both ends - great)
  • Min 100-300mm APO (both ends - great)

I was surprised that my HS G is off so much, but it's stellar on my A77, so I just won't use it on my A700.

So, the lenses I'll use on the A700 are the 50, 35-105 and the 100-300. Best one seems to be the 35-105 and I'm fine with that. Thanks for all your help.
