I have three hardware combinations:
A. E-M5, 12 2.0, 60 macro, 12-35, 35-100
B. Body and primes only
C. Body and zooms only
If I'm going somewhere where I'm happy taking my gadget bag (Crumpler Jackpack 4000) I go for option A, or if it's somewhere where I could get drenched, C. If I go out with just the two primes, it's because I don't want to take the gadget bag. So my policy is to keep one lens on the body and the other in a pocket.
Some people might wonder why no standard lens, such as the 25 1.4. For me it's because when I had three primes (24 2.0, 50 1.4, 105 Macro) on a Nikon FM-2n back in the 1990s, I hardly ever used the 50. And in some ways I think using two primes where one is a true wideangle and the other a true tele, it forces me to make a decision: wide or close-crop? Also, with three lenses I'd probably want some kind of bag, but I love the spontaneity of a really small camera and a spare lens being in a pocket. Great for street and some kinds of travel photography.
