Shooting indoor with GX1 in iA/iA+ mode Blurry pictures

Hey m4/3 experts,

I usually don't shoot on iA, but I wanted to try out iA+ on my GX1 and i was begining to like it until it started producing blurry pictures indoors with flash. If the place is dimly lit, i'd assume it would up the iso to compensate, but it doesn't as much as i'd like. instead it reduces shutter speed on flash (usually showing around 1/8th) and changes flash to slow sync automatically. My aperture is low enough (f1.8, i'm using Oly 45mm f1.8 lens). I'm not sure what gives, the pictures come out fine in other modes.

Just curious if i'm doing something wrong or if its the iA mode not being smart enough.

Thanks for your input.
