I think Moftich is right in terms of other options. The OWC's are well known to be OSX compatible and I have an OCZ Vector as my external TB drive, they support firmware updates via bootable options (CD or thumb drive). I am not as familiar with the Crucial's so hopefully someone else will chime in.
