Better low light tungsten results with Sylvania Halogen Bulbs

I often shoot pictures with only the light from two 100 watt bulbs in table lamps beside my bed.
A bulb blew in one lamp and not being able to find another GE Reveal bulb in the closet I replaced it with a Sylvania Halogen Super Save Soft White Bulb - 1 "100W Replacement using only 72w"
Immediately, I noticed the light was much brighter than that from the 100 watt Reveal in the other lamp. I also notice a slight greenish cast and wondered what that would do to my results.
Much to my surprise, the pink cast that shows up in many low light shots, disappeared.
