Disappointed with K-30.

This is so funny. A commentary on human intelligence and comprehension or in so many cases lack there of. People simply refusing to accept science and so many commenting when clearly they do not have the knowledge to do so. How often have you seen that before?!!

Let me see if I can state what we ACTUALLY know:

1) Camera was used at a water park and after a few minutes the lens became foggy on the inside and could not be used.

2) The next day there were water droplets on the inside and white streaking on/of the LCD

Can we all agree that is a failure but for the moment lets not lay blame or cause??!!!

So given that what should happen next? Tell you what I do when I have something that fails and is under warranty, I go back to the manufacturer! But that apparently has not happened. What has happened is a whole bunch of folks have panned Pentax some saying their whole WR approach is bogus and doesn't work etc etc. Where are the facts for that??!! There are none!

There are two likely potential causes for the failure: 1) condensation on the inside caused by change in temperature with no failure of the seals on lens or body; 2) moisture ingress from the outside as a result of faulty seal(s).

We can sit here and argue about what went wrong all day while folks deny the laws of physics and crap on Pentax or the OP can take the camera in and let us know what Pentax has to say.

In the meantime I will continue to use my K-30 but applying common sense (what a missnoma as what the term refers to is indeed quite uncommon) and allow the camera and lenses to adjust to temp changes before using them. I will use them however with the confidence that they are weather resistant. While I won't throw water on them I am confident that should something fail as a result of faulty seal that Pentax will make good! Pentax pretty clearly believes they have an effective weather resistant approach but you do have to read the manual and understand what lenses have what protection.

Now lets stop all this back and forth arguing the laws of science and slamming of Pentax and hope the OP does the right thing and lets Pentax have a look. Gonna be freezing rain and rain coming think I will go out and see what pictures I can get
