A-99 and understanding the auto focus ?

If you look in the menu (page 4 of the 'cog' section) and go to the Smart Telecon. next to the bottom, you need to change it to 'Focus Magnifier' and then it will work as you had hoped.

The other two settings are Jpeg only, unfortunately, as they are consequences of internal processing.
