Many of us are eager to gain insight on the performance of the new M. My M mount lenses are kind of waiting for worthy digital body to latch on since I dumped the M9....  So many thanks for making this effort and providing us with a few examples.

I will be blunt nonetheless: what these pics (and the mall pics before that) actually show is that the new M will allow people to make pictures. Nothing more (and nothing less). Crop factor aside, you'd have generated the same pics with your M lenses with any of the current Nex or Fuji bodies. Or with the M8/M9. Or with a good compact (at this level of web publication anyway).

I am sure Leica will soon come out with the usual wave of glossy outputs from luxurious shooting sessions in exotic locations, wowing us with colours, composition and general quality of images.

There are reasons for companies to be secretive and very precise in the way they let out samples of their new products, and I am really amazed that Leica has authorised what feels like random publications from prototypes or pre-series bodies such as the one you are happily using.

I do wish you the very best, and am grateful as a DPR reader for your will to share, but I must confess that I am not warming up at all to the new M at the moment. That is probably best for my wallet. And my old faithful M6 will probably allow me to continue getting my Leica "fix" whenever I feel the urge....

Congratulations on the yacht and on the win!
