GH3 & Auto-ISO

OK, but your expectations are wrong.   What about metering?  What about focus?

Manual mode is not about making everything manual; people just erroneously assume that's what it means.

Aperture priority mode:  select only aperture manually; nothing about other parameters

Shutter priority mode: select only shutter speed manually; nothing about other parameters

Manual mode: select both aperture and shutter speed manually; nothing about other parameters

Back in the film era when these things were decided, "manual" had nothing to do with ISO, because you couldn't change the ISO by just hitting a button and turning a knob, or leaving it to the camera, like you can today.
