D800 or 800e? Any difference for ap?

I'm a nikon shooter, and am starting my initial steps into ap. I'm looking at an 800 anyway, and am curious if it really matters which one I get to do ap? Would the E version produce more false colors in stars than the regular 800, or vice versa? If I get better as I go along, I'll be moving on to a mono CCD. For tooth cutting purposes though, I'll start with my  dslr's. Any advice is welcome. Also, I do know about Canons offerings but, am not interested. Unless, someone wants to buy for me, that is!
