RX1 and portraits

35mm lenses are not made for closer portrait work because of the distortion. A 50 should be better and an 85 is often where folks begin to call a lens a portrait lens.

But in real life practice, I am not sure I see a difference (e.g., nose size) between the RX1 at 35mm and a Nikon D600 with the Sigma 50/1.4 . . . or am I just missing the distortion? There should be a difference regardless of the camera or lens used, I'd think. And I focused on the eye on the left for both shots.

RX1 (no PP)

Nikon D600 (exposure and white balance had to be fixed bunches and I still didn't get it just right)
