That's rather a sweeping statement!  If you mean "as most monitors have a colour space somewhere near sRGB then even without colour management (profiled monitor and colour managed software) then the image should display with approximately the right colours on most normal gamut monitors" then I'd agree!

To the OP: this might not be the best test image.  Sunset colours look OK with a range of colour rendition.  Something with skin tones in natural light might be more demanding.
