RED's Dragon sensor - 20 stop dynamic range

Must say I'm much more concerned about too much DR than too little - a future where every shot looks like badly-done HDR because of 20 stops of DR is horrific to me. I've used HDR three times in the last year - seems to me my existing cameras have plenty of DR right now. Of course, others may have different requirements, but I suspect overall this demand for ever-more DR is utterly insane.
