New K30 owner - CIF not working?

Hi all pentaxians, and glad to announce that I got my K30 kit (18-55WR) yesterday and am quite pleased for the moment. However, as my main goal for the time being is to use the body with some legacy glass (old K-mount and m42) I have a couple issues I hoped you may be able to help out with:

1: Catch-in-focus. Literally now working at all with the manual lens I used so far (a Porst 50mm f1.2); I have checked the box in custom functions and mainly expected it to be working... as advertised. Any other specific settings I should be aware of to get CIF actually working?

2: In-focus confirmation. Same old lens, I do get the red dot and the beep from the camera but many times (and not only at F1.2) the focus is /way/ off. Not all the time, making it a bit stranger, as some AF adjustments seemed not to do any actual help for me.
