Auto focus lag - Startup slow - A99

I don't have A99, but the Auto focus lag is usually related to the lens.  Your Sigma may be the source of slow down for AF-lock.

My A77 is starts pretty fast, but I use the sleep-function all time. It uses almost no battery, but wakes up almost instantly whenever you need it.
