Nikon, give us a 65 mm 1.8 DX lens for portraits, please!

You're not the only one. I think I'd prefer a 70mm f/1.8 myself, but if Nikon came out with your 65mm f/1.8DX, then that would be the next lens I'd buy.

A 50mm has its uses on DX, but as a portrait lens it edges into "big nose" territory, and switching to an 85mm means backing up 5 feet - when you might not always have 5 feet of clear space behind you. "Zoom with your feet" is not always an option.

And it's not as if a 65 or 70mm f/1.8 prime would be a big technical challenge to produce.
