Yes a blurry shot is a ruined image quality.

Sounds like a spurious argument from Zeiss. More like they can't do it properly. The new Nikon 70-200mm F4 with latest gen image stabilisation is getting reports of being Nikon's sharpest lens ever.

So it definitely can be done.

I love the ois in the 18055mm zoom. I would describe that zoom as equal to many prime lenses.

ois is needed even with wide in poor light unless you have a super fast lens or super high ISO and there goes your image quality.
