I've been using a D3x since it's on the shelves, and decided not to jump on the D800/E at this stage.

The 24MP are more then enough for my use, the captor is great, "à la D200" for skin tones and auto WB is incredible. No automatic anti-dusting (but then I never really saw a difference with the D700).

But a great long lasting battery and two slots for the same cards in a very resistant body (and not as heavy as one would believe, specially vs the D700 I still have)...

After a D3s you'll see a difference in MP (for the better) but also in shooting speed (slower) as the D3s is still king of low light with the new D4.

It's a hard choice, and it's up to you to choose !!! I only had to choose between the D3s and the D3x
