EX2F Quick test

Hello, I recently got the quite compact EX2F and have been putting it through it's paces.

Not that many posts about it yet, so I thought I might share my early thoughts.

Image quality is ok even though there seems to be some noise reduction going on att all ISO settings. One can only hope there will be firmware fixes for that. Also, when comparing results from the Samsung raw converter and ACR, the Samsung converter files have by default been corrected from distortion, slightly cropped and removed vignetting.

Well other than that I'd say it's a good camera with nice controls. I put wrist strap on it instead of the supplied neck strap.

The first two are full-size raw conversions. View original size to get a fair idea about quality.

Last light.

Raw, saved as 16 bit tiff, opened in ACR and final adjustments in PS.



Macro

Really close, 1cm at 5.2mm (24mm equiv.) f/3.9, a bit of unsharp mask.



Here is an ACR conversion. Vignetting gets much worse in macro mode if not corrected. 5.2mm.
