Great laptop for image editing and processing

Lots of good laptops for video editing and image processing but few great ones. The best are the ones that depend upon AC power and so can use the same processors and hard drive speeds and dedicated video processor boards as used with desktop computers. One such laptop is the new 17" Toshiba Qosmio that sells for $1300.

Laptop has the i7 processor, 12GB DDR3 RAM, 2 500GB hard drives (so they can be mirrored), 3GB Nvidia GeForce video card, DVD burner, and a 17.3" display. Add a mouse or Watcom tablet and you have a top notch computer that is portable and used anywhere and easily stored away when not in use.

I use a couple tower workstations at home and a 15.4" i5 processor equipped 8-16GB Lenovo E530 when traveling but if I was only going to have a single do it all computer it would be this Toshiba.

Toshiba also provides better than average customer service and after sale support. We have been using a Toshiba netbook for the past 4 years and getting support and driver and BIOS updates has not been a problem.
