Good analysis.

My thought:

People who want a "pro"-grade zoom aren't too concerned with size and weight. Therefore, Olympus can leverage their investment in 4/3 by simply building a really good adapter or body that will accommodate their existing 4/3 glass and allow it to focus like lightning. I think they've already hinted that this is in the works. As long as size and weight aren't big considerations--and let's face it, fast "pro"-grade lenses will always be relatively big and heavy--there's little reason to develop a new m43 equivalent if an existing 4/3 product exists and can be adapted.
