A friend of mine on this forum shoots with a D800. Certainly an enhanced camera, but he took a weekend workshop with Tim Grey to learn LightRoom. Tim urged people to forego using flashes and instead to use ISO up to 6400.

My friend brought it up after I told him on the phone about how complex speedlights and Nikon CLS are. I haven't tried it yet. No need. But I will.

No offense, but I wonder what do you find complex about them? I've been using the Nikon CLS system for about a year now, and it is pretty easy to use, specially if you use multiple flashes on TTL via the commander mode on cameras such as the D7000. All you have to do is to compensate from the camera's menu and you're all setup.

No need to fiddle with the flashes!
