DVD rippers - DVD Fab 9 unresponsive on W8. Alternatives?

I have a new W8 system and am trying to get dvd Fab 9 working but the program is unresponsive not matter what I do. Support havent managed to get it working for me either
Any good alternatives for DVD ripping (to send to me Apple TV device)?
