In looking further at the sample images posted, on both my laptop and desktop Macs, the ceiling lights in the Canon shot are so blown out that they've "bloomed" to obscure parts of the metal strips between the tiles. I still can't imagine why the OP thinks the Fuji exposure is wrong.
See my response above; this thread is not about the exposure metering at all.
