ZS19 compared with Canon S95

I just recently bought the ZS19 and so far am quite happy with it.

I had replaced my previous camera a Canon SX100 with the S95. The S95 was picked as it got excellent low light reviews and shot in RAW which few of the small pocket cameras do. The ability to correct shots in RAW was needed as I take photos of my wife's paintings and without an elaborate photo setup making adjustments in RAW was the best method I found.

On our last vacation I found I missed the ability to zoom in on subjects so looked for a small compact with high zoom. Tried the Canon SX260 but was not happy with the pictures so switched it for the ZS19

I have been going back and reading posts about the ZS19/20 and came across some references to the Canon s95 series and users seem to believe the pictures from the S95 were better.

I have to admit my untrained photo eyes are not the best but as I had not noticed any big difference took some test shots with both cameras yesterday.

I have been trying Erik Ohlson's method of A mode set to 3.3 and adjusting exposure by -1/3 and found the shot below (P1000358 ) best to my eye and the actual colours seen. To my eye I don't see any marked difference in sharpness between the two, but those knowing what to look for may.

Would welcome comments on these photos.
