In studio comparisons it does look like 1/3 of a stop if even, when comparing equally exposed RAW files, as you also noted yourself a few months ago in this thread.

I specifically looked at the center because in the corners the RX1 has to correct for vignetting with extra gain (local brightening) which gives it a small handicap there too.

The visible difference certainly is not.

Visible is subjective, which is why DXO doesn't use their eyes to assess performance.

But they don't take certain visible effects into account either. Such as patterns.

And anyone with eyes can see that the difference between ISO 6400 from the A99 vs ISO 12800 from the RX1 is many times the tiny difference between both at ISO 12800. With SNR curves that are mostly measured being linear, it also doesn't take half a brain to conclude that DXO measured a greater difference than visible in the real world.
