FUJIFILM was the first to bring PDAF to small market but it was an abject failure.  The F300EXR had a much touted hybrid autofocus sensor.  In practice the duel focus system offered only the most minuscule improvement in focusing but lost even that once light levels dipped only slightly.   The F300EXR was withdrawn from the market in only 6 months and the replacement camera dropped the duel focusing system.  A total rejection of the once hyped system.

Let's hope some lessons were learned from that fiasco.
