Is Sigma 30mm better lens compared to 35mm f2 in terms of FOV for 600D. I am still thinking about getting sigma instead of 35mm f2 as a one prime solution to complement kit lens.

Not sure how reliable is kenrockwell reviews, according to him 35mm f2 as well as new f2 IS will have issues with bokeh when focused at about 10 feet or more. He puts 35mm on par with new IS version except for manual focus override and IS.

What he shows there my old 35mm f2 does not do. Not sure if what he shows is actual norrnal bokeh performance, from the IS version. Time will tell.

The Sigma 30mm f1.4 is closer to 50mm equivalent than the 35mm lenses, so in that sense it is better. The Sigma is a nice lens, just a bit low on contrast wide open and at the edges.

Both are fine choices, in my opinion.

Yah. He is still filling in his review for 35f2.
