5D3 + new 430EX II - not detecting sensor size

Page 23 of the 430EX II manual states: "When the Speedlite is attached to a compatible camera, <image> will appear on the Speedlite's LCD panel." It then shows a picture of where <image> will appear and I have no such image. My 5D3 has the latest firmware. I tried two lenses (40mm f/2.8, 24-105mm L).
Ideas?
