New D800 owner opinions wanted

Have an opportunity to buy a lighly used D800. Have used the D300s for the last few years and there is just this itch .. new toy kind of thing??

My question: has anybody coming from other bodies regretted his/her decision to move up? I am aware of some of the issues that might bother me e.g. 4 FPS, terribly slow buffer, HUGE files and I might have to move my lenses up a notch.

Currently using a 16-85 AF-S DX lens, 60/2.8 MICRO and a VR1 70-200/2.8. Have heard of people complaining about per pixel sharpness at 100% when not using top notch glass. Not sure whether this is entirely true, because if it was, then I would just concede defeat, not prepared to exchange the lot in order to get that extra bit of resolution (and then to send to freinds and family reduce to 1600x1080, as one does...)

On the other hand: Any major surprises regarding this camera?? Would be nice to get blown away but I guess the really big steps are over.
