Not really. It's obvious that as a user (whether camera, car, cooking equipment & other gadgets) you are responsible to know and understand the minimum and maximum operating parameters and conditions.  So it's important to read the manual and if not specified or in doubt ask the manufacturer or check online documentations.

it's also common sense to replace deliberately covered areas (e.g. USB cover). I'm sure even the new Boeing 787 will have operating guidelines and conditions.

e.g. With extreme temperature for the past days in Australia I'm cautious on the acceptable or max operating tolerance of my equipments (e.g. Camera and air conditioner).
