- Serial #306201x - (has anyone managed to reverse engineer a manufacture date from the serial #?)

- No apparent "reboxing" from factory (original serial sticker is on the box)

- Body is perfect cosmetically

- Date was set to "10/02/2012" - which seems a bit odd- not sure if this reflects the build date or a re-manufacture date from a prior return (unlikely) but I don't know if this field is blank normally or not, etc.

- Shutter count was "0"

- Put a new 50 1.4 AFS on it for initial tests

- No 'green shift" WB on LCD from what I can tell from the few shots I took.

- Initial test (not comprehensive my any means) of left focus issues is negative.

- Resolution from NEF's is amazing - esp. considering my last DSLR was a Fuji S5 - 100% (untouched) crops are completely passable IMHO.

- Stock JPEGS seem well balanced

- LCD is "marginal" at best in full sunshine - 5DMark III is much better

- NEF's from my 17-35 are very soft on edges - which I figured would occur as this lens was designed in the 90's

- AF speed tracking with the 50 1.4 was acceptable and very fast on the 17-35

More updates this weekend when I have more time .....

Canon EOS 5D Casio Exilim EX-S5 Nikon D800
