Just make sure you compare apples to apples. For example, 35mm f/2 on full frame at 10 feet would require 23mm f/2 at 15 feet on APS sensor to achieve the same composition. Distance to subject, closer vs farther, means smaller DOF and with the same focal length on different size sensor means you need to compensate to see the real DOF difference.

Valentino, I think you are confusing DOF with FOV. The Sony RX1 with a 35mm lens would give you the same FOV as a Fuji X100 with it's 23mm (35mm equiv) lens. You are correct that the DOF would differ at any given aperture due to the different sensor sizes, but the field of view would be the same with the 2 cameras the same distance from the subject, so you would not need to be 5 ft further away with the Fuji for the same composition.  The same DOF, yes, not for the FOV.
