Yes the 12-50 is weather proofed, as is the 60mm macro. The lack of weather proofed M43 lenses has been discussed here often. In fact, the release of the 12-50 fuelled a fair bit of speculation about the subsequent releases of weather proofed MFT bodies, preceding as it did both the E-M5 and GH-3 announcements.
So, this is not news or noteworthy nor, I think, does this "preconception" exist that all MFT lenses are inherently splash and dust proof. What makes you imagine such a preconception?

If the manufacture went out of their way to describe something as dust or weather resistant like the GH-3 with the 12-35 or 35-100 I don't expect any other current Panasonic lens to have this ability on the GH-3. If the 12-35 or 35-100 is used on my GX-1 than I know its not weather sealed in that combo.
Stop while you're ahead. You make less and less sense the more you try, and that makes it difficult to believe you don't have a Pana/Oly agenda.
The tiny gasket on the lens mated to a µ4/3 mount makes the mating weatherproof, be it either brand. Period. Of course when mounted on a body that isn't environmentally sealed that lens/mount seal is redundant.
