My take on the D600 lubricant/dust issue

I think your use of the word "contemplating" when you probably meant to say "complaining" is one of those fortunate Freudian slips. I guess I would describe my position as contemplating or thinking about the issue, with an open mind because we don't know everything yet.

On the one hand, yes, I think people should relax a little and go out and use their D600 cameras. From everything we read, it does appear that the best way to get through the worst of it is to keep pressing the shutter (and cleaning, of course), so why not enjoy what is otherwise a terrific camera?

I also think Nikon messed up royally on this one, and their customer service handling of the issue is only pounding them into the ground further. One thing I learned early in life is that a reputation is easy to lose and very hard to regain once lost. I'm a little puzzled at how Nikon has so recklessly mishandled their reputation with this and other recent issues.
