Yes the 12-50 is weather proofed, as is the 60mm macro. The lack of weather proofed M43 lenses has been discussed here often. In fact, the release of the 12-50 fuelled a fair bit of speculation about the subsequent releases of weather proofed MFT bodies, preceding as it did both the E-M5 and GH-3 announcements.
So, this is not news or noteworthy nor, I think, does this "preconception" exist that all MFT lenses are inherently splash and dust proof. What makes you imagine such a preconception?
