When I've used the OM-D in rain/snow I haven't had a weatherproof lens on hand. The body would get wet, favoring protection of the lens between shots (facing down), and as often as I thought it prudent I'd wipe down the lens and body (mostly the lens and lens mount area).

Basically I use it and protect it like I would any other body, except I'd let the body get wetter than what feels comfortable. Out in a wet snow a week or so ago, with snowshoes, I had the camera slug across the torso with it behind my hip. I managed to throw a lot of snow on my back with the snowshoes at one point. A few minutes later when calling for the camera I found the back of the camera to be packed in snow as if I'd taken a good handful and mushed it against the back (filling the EVF, buttons, etc.). Talk about a disturbing sight, but it was a non-event once cleared.

I feel better bringing a Sea to Summit waterproof bag with me, so I can leave the camera out on the strap if walking around in precipitation. The bag can be put over the camera and sealed while on my neck when not using the camera. And in the cold if I'm not using a regular bag I use the waterproof bag to seal it before going indoors. It rolls up into a pocket when not needed. I'm a little less cautious with the body than I used to be, but still w/o a waterproof lens the bag makes me feel better.

Though, I recall whats-his-name that was using the OM-D and 12-50 depicting Hurricane Sandy's fury off the East River, without incident.

A spare Sea To Summit bag, I want to shop for a shorter and wider mouthed one.

i use a drybag as well, it's very handy for storing your camera in bad conditions or on the beach when not in use.
