I notice you have the constellation of Orion in the bottom right corner. The flare can be avoided by a carefully placed hand, if needed.

I hate that flare when I take shots. Please tell me where to put my hand. Im pointing directly at the sun/moon. there is no "side" light. would a lens hood help? thank you
