Its the same as a vivitar/cosina pretty much if that helps. It was branded by a couple different companies.
You might get some great images from it but it probably isnt going to be a go-to lens or very reliable in alot of lighting situations.
I hope it works out good for you and who knows,it might be better than many realize...brian
I was indeed aware of that, and since I've already got a Phoenix "plastic fantastic" 100mm macro I thought the performance might be similar. At 99$ you can't exactly beat the price though I'm not really expecting too much out of it...it's just a band-aid solution until I can afford a proper lens that'll truly be up to snuff.
I've had pretty good success with the Tamron 200-400. It's missing to lower end of that
range, and I've seen it for sale several places for under $250, if that's still in the budget.
Already got one and sad to say it suffered a catastrophic meltdown about two months ago when the AF gears froze up on me. It's okay as long as there's bright sunshine but in low light all it does is spin endlessly and refuses to lock onto anything. Tore my heart out to lose it...needless to say I would'nt mind another copy but not only have the prices gone up it's next to impossible to find one compatible with my A35. Believe me, I've been perusing Ebay just about every day and so far no enchilada. Oh well....let's hope this Phoenix is a decent copy ..as stated I'm not expecting a helluva lot but at 99$ it's worth a look.
