This is my first post on DP Review. I have had my first camera for a year now and have found this forum brilliant help. I really didn't know a thing a year ago.
I have become a bit of a short depth of field and cinematic style addict. So I was very excited about the SLR Magic 35mm 1.4, and ordered one as soon as I could. I received it yesterday and here are literally my first shots. These have all been mildly tweaked in Lightroom. No filters.
Apologies a if there are too many shots (10). I couldn't work out how to simply post a gallery.
Enjoy
I eas trying to create a painterly look. This leans is great for this.
Notice the purple chromatic aeration.
The rest of the crow was not a pretty picture.
The cinematic glow of this lens is fantastic. Maybe it's not pro like the new 12-35 but it's stylish
Bokeh sex
Insane short depths of field and bokeh for a $279 lens.
Simple light
Ok, here is the crazy 60's rainbow lens flare that appears at 1.4 in extreme scenarios. This is the most I could get. It's groovy, baby B)
Delicate light through a bonsai (unkempt).
This was a test in manual focus. It is possible at speed. In fact it's easier than auto for this kind of shot.
