It actually does matter if iso 1600 are more like iso 800 on the a99 because if you shoots sports with an a900 and change to a99 then you suddenly have to use a lower shutter speed and this may result in undisired motion blur. well you could also choose to use iso 3200 instead. It could also irritate a lot ig you shoote manual with a99 and also use an a900 because then you can't use the same shutterspeed or iso.

But I can't imagine that Sony did mingle with the iso. The photos and the shutterspeeds I have compared between the a99 and a900 are ecactly the same. But I have not tested this myself. I also checked the Canon 5D MkIII and the D600. If ie. the a99 have to use 1/15 the Canon and Nikon does away with 1/20.

It's the slt mirror playing a part in dxo measures.
