Ralph you could well be right, I've always wondered if they were taking a loss on the X-S1, If it were priced at £1000 it would still look like good value for money when compared to the latest crop of mid range DSLR's.

The real problem, though, is that at that price you could get an m4/3 kit that would stomp the X-S1 into dust. With a better EVF and LCD and everything else.

dSLRs have their inherent advantages and disadvantages, but the D3200 is so far above the X-S1 in IQ and handling as to be ludicrous.

If you've still not held one in your hand you won't know what I'm talking about.

I spent 6 months with the lender from Fuji. I agree that it is the best bridge cam out there. Perhaps the second best ever made after that short lived Sony from way back.

But it is no competition for m4/3 or dSLRs in practical terms ... unless one fixates solely on convenience and reach as the one criteria that matters.

The HS30 is weak by comparison to the X-S1, but it has the big price advantage for those who do not care about the EVF as much.

The HS50 looks like a real competitor for the P510 finally ... with RAW and the other EXR advantages, and with hopefully improved AF, they might have something there ...

Fuji has promised me some lenders in April ... meanwhile, they will be sending me an F800 to contrast to my F770 ... that should be fun
