About to purchase LX7

I've had an LX3 for years now and it's been the most fun I've had with any camera I've owned.

I loved the output, loved setting the custom mode to be square black and white, loved playing with the raw files but most of all just enjoyed the facts that it was fun to use, made me want to go out and take more photos and was light enough to carry with me.

It got run over by a car in a muddy field and kept on working (even though it was slightly bent) for years more.

Over Christmas I unfortunately lost my coat, with the camera in the pocket.  So I'm looking to replace it and the obvious choice is the LX7.

I don't mind spending a little more cash (RX100 etc.) for more camera but there was something about the LX3 that was special and I don't want to loose that - even if the pictures from a different camera are "better" in resolution or noise.

The only complicating factor is that I have a Canon 20D with a 10-22mm and 70-200mm (I think) lens which is great, but just SO HEAVY that I go 12 months between hauling it onto my back and using.

So I have the option of selling all that and using the cash on "camera stuff" - either a more expensive camera in the first place - or accessories etc for my new camera.

As far as my main subject areas go:

- Street style family shots

- Landscapes

- Long exposure night photography

Any reasons why I shouldn't just plump for the LX7?  I know if I sold the 20D and lenses then I'd never go back to a bulky dSLR so I'd be a little sad about that - but I use it so infrequently..

I'm hoping that the LX7 would have less / more manageable noise at higher ISOs.  I don't expect miracles but from what I've seen 1600 looks acceptable, and the brighter lens should mean that night shots can be at lower ISOs anyway.

Decisions.....
