i have wonder what purposes it would suit. who's shooting flat stuff, all in the same plane, so that they need the entire frame sharp at f/1.4? most of us are going to be shooting a single subject, isolated from everything else by shallow DOF, and that subject will probably be somewhere close to the center, and not the edges.
