Zeiss 24-70 @ 70mm on Full Frame???

I thank you all for your responses.  Judging by the samples posted, in particular Jerome's treasure trove of test samples, I can safely say that my lens appears to be just fine.  I don't mind when a lens has some compromises, I do mind if I think I may have a copy that is defective.  As it stands the lens is quite stellar for what it does, the build quality is supreme and it focuses like a dream.  I'm more likely not to use 70mm for landscapes most of the time and, when I do, I can stop down to f11.
