Would anyone actually pay full price for the dust/oil box?

Do you actually know anything about these cameras, or do you just regurgitate things you have seen on the web.  There is no IQ test required before a person buys one of these models, and there is no test for nerds, so you might want to consider that when you are reading.  If you cant get your very best result from a D800E you might want to change hobbies.
