I don't think he ever said he took it from a cold to a warm environment. And when I shoot in the summer my K5 is in an air conditioned car and then when I get out it is in 90 degree weather. Never had a problem with that.

As far as I know, that is the only way condensation can occur.  So, even though he didn't say it, I'm betting he did.   I doubt the water park was the problem.  I think it was a sudden temperature change from cold to warm with high humidity.
