New Years Day Kiwi Style

Just a glimpse at the lovely weather we had Jan 1st

The crowded beach

A couple of shots of our New Zealand Christmas Tree ( so called as it usually flowers around Xmas/New Year) the real name is Pohutakawa.

Hard to get the brilliance of the flowers ( John also had diifficulty )

So here is a close up

Every one has a picnic lunch

Some go body boarding or surfing

Some go paragliding

Some go walking. The red is a type of seaweed  that comes occaisionally at this time of year
