i'm seriously planning to buy the Panasonic 20mm for all round lens on OMD to increase the portability that unfortunately is highly reduce by the kit lens.

i have the following concerns:

- i remember that several people experienced visible and quite annoying banding issue. is still an issue or the firmware updates solved this problem?

- another concern that i have is the fact that olympus body will not perform any color correction on this lens. Is this something really noticeable? do you have some example of JPEG done and not processed with the 20mm?

thank you for you attention

Just to throw a wrench into the discussion, I am one of those who really do not have a problem with banding with the 20mm on E-M5. Latest firmware here. Here are the unprocessed examples. You are welcome to download the originals from my gallery for the closest inspection.

I believe AndersW was looking into the difference between the camera or lens being just turned on, or warmed up. The first image is "cold," the others are after using the camera for a while. You will see some banding in these mages if you push the exposure in PP, and the first one will show it very faintly if you adjust white balance, but overall I think this is quite acceptable, given the overall IQ at such a high ISO.
